How to Store Your Beauty Products

It’s not easy to keep your makeup organized, mostly when we’re on a rush and just throw everything into a drawer or just leave it on the bathroom counter. Having disorganized makeup can make bacteria spread easily and of course, it’s not healthy for your beautiful face. Bacteria-filled makeup can transfer to your face and cause it to break out or even worse, infections. With these solutions, we hope you say goodbye to your messy makeup drawer.

First, you’ll need to disinfect every piece of makeup.

Cleaning your makeup should be a regular part of your beauty routine for the reason I just explained above. First of all, throw away expired beauty products. Second, sanitize your makeup products with a spray bottle filled with isopropyl alcohol from the drugstore (do not use ethyl alcohol). After that, wash your make up brushes following the next steps.

What you’ll need: A shallow bowl, baby shampoo and a lint free cloth.

  1. Run your brushes under warm water, rising out all of the residual makeup. Focus on the actual bristles and avoid the part where the handle meets the head, as this can loosen the glue over time.
  2. Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and a squeeze of baby shampoo, and gently swirl the brush tip in the water.
  3. Rinse the brush tip under running water once again.
  4. Repeat steps two and three until the water runs clear from the brush.
  5. Use the lint free cloth to wipe your brush clean, reshaping the bristles as you go.
  6. Lay your brushes flat on the cloth to dry.

Your brushes will need a few hours to dry after washing them, so wash them after you’ve applied makeup that day.

Now that your make up is clean, it’s time for some organization!

Use dividers.
